Mask to Stay and Test to Play Options
The options below only apply to direct contacts in a school environment  those individuals who are identified as being directly exposed to COVID-19 by a positive case in a classroom or other school setting.

“The ‘Mask to Stay’ and ‘Test to Play’ options are informed by a growing body of national experience, as well as from a pilot in Warren County, and experience shared by other local health departments pointing toward a low number of direct contacts that convert to cases within school settings,” Dr.
Vanderhoff stated.

Meal Delivery. Mar 20 Update
March 20, 2020

Good afternoon Maysville Families!

On Monday, March 23rd, our school buses will again be running routes to deliver grab and go bags for students at the bus stops. Administrators and staff volunteers will be riding the buses and will give sacks containing breakfast and lunch to those at the stops. We are able to provide free lunch and breakfast to every student, even if that Maysville student attends MidEast or does not ride a bus and is usually dropped off or picked up.

We are beginning the bus runs at 11:30 and will be completed around 1:15. If you were at the bus stop on Thursday, you can assume we will be at that stop about the same time on Monday. The bus will stop at every stop, including open enrollment stops.

If your child is picking up meals, you might want him or her to bring a backpack since we will be giving students multiple days’ worth of meals. We plan to deliver meals again on Wednesday, March 25th.

I know you will have questions and we want to be responsive to your needs. We have an information sheet available on the website and the app to answer your questions. The administration center is open from 8:00-3:00, so you can call 740-453-0754 if you have questions not answered on the information sheet.

If you haven’t downloaded the Maysville app, this would be a great time to do so. We can keep you updated on the latest information as we all work together during this time of school closure.

Have a good weekend!

Sincerely,

Ruth E. Zitnik, Ed.D

Superintendent

Meal Delivery - FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions – Meal Delivery

Can one of my children pick up a grab and go meal for siblings or do all of the children need to be at the stop?

One child or parent may pick up lunches for all Maysville children in the household.

If we aren’t sure of the stop, will the bus stop if the driver sees my children waiting?

Yes, the bus driver has been authorized to stop if feasible. However, we cannot guarantee that these are areas are safe to stop the bus, so it is important to be at the actual bus stop.

Will you provide a meal for my preschooler that attends Maysville?

Yes, we will provide a meal for our preschoolers as well if the parent comes to the stop.

Why can’t you tell me the exact time to be at the stop?

This is our first time running routes like this. We will be stopping at every elementary, middle, and high school route. Therefore, the times cannot be determined until we actually run these. Also, we cannot estimate how long we will need to be at each stop.

Will the bus put on flashing lights and require traffic to stop?

Yes, the buses will operate the same as if we are picking up children.

My child does not ride the bus. How do I know where to go for the bus stop?

You can ask a neighbor that does ride the bus where to be. You might also see other children waiting at the stop.

My child is an open enrollment student. Can he or she go to the stop?

Absolutely! Open enrollment stops will be included in our bus runs. You may go to any stop and receive meals.

My children will not be at their regular bus stop. Will they be given meals?

Yes, any Maysville child at the stop will be given a meal, even if it isn’t their regular stop.

Will you have special lunches for my children who have allergies or are gluten-free?

No, not on Thursday. However, we will be calling parents whose children have allergies and will make arrangements beginning on Monday to provide those special meals.

Meal Delivery

March 18, 2020

Good afternoon Maysville Families.

Even though our schools have been closed, your Maysville teachers, administration, and staff have all been working to continue to serve our students. Assignment packets have been mailed to your homes and if you have an updated address, you should receive these packets shortly.

Right now, one of our highest priorities is to provide meals to children during this uncertain time. I’d like to share some information about how we will accomplish this.

This Thursday, March 19th, our school buses will be running routes to deliver grab and go bags for students at the bus stops. Administrators and staff volunteers will be riding the buses and will give a sack containing breakfast and lunch to those at the stops. We are able to provide free lunch and breakfast to every student, even if that Maysville student attends MidEast or does not ride a bus and is usually dropped off or picked up.

We are beginning the bus runs at 11:30 and will be completed around 1:15. We cannot give you an exact time because we have never done this before. I ask that you be patient and understanding as we work through the glitches that are sure to arise. We are running the bus routes to make sure we cover all bus stops. Open enrollment stops will also be included.

The bus will arrive at the stop sometime between 11:30 and 1:15. As we run these routes, you will soon know a more accurate time to be at the stop for meal pickups. Until then, you will need to watch for the bus between 11:30 and 1:15. We will stop at every bus stop.

Beginning next week, we will deliver meals on Mondays and Wednesdays between 11:30 and 1:15. Next week if your child is picking up meals, you might want him or her to bring a backpack since we will be giving students multiple days’ worth of meals. On Mondays we will give meals for Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesdays we will give meals for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

I know you will have questions and we want to be responsive to your needs. So, we will have an information sheet available on the website and the app to answer your questions. The administration center is open from 8:00-3:00, so you can call 740-453-0754 if you have questions not answered on the information sheet.

Sincerely,

Ruth Zitnik, Ed.D

Superintendent
